AnswerLine:

Our Rabbis Answer Your Questions!

The unique Project Genesis program brings you classes from a worldwide collection of top Rabbinic resources. Our Answer Line allows you to turn around, and ask a question to our resident CyberSage®*!

Although we would love to open this service to all questions and questioners, at present that goal is unfortunately beyond our reach. Therefore we have to decided to devote our very limited time and resources entirely to answering questions from those Jews who have had little exposure to traditional Jewish learning and who cannot easily obtain answers from other sources. If you fit that description, then our AnswerLine is for you. [If you don't, see our note about our Torah-Forum mailing list, below.]

Instructions for Asking a Question:

Please tell us a little bit about yourself - responding in a 'vacuum' is a difficult task, especially when delving into complex topics in Jewish philosophy, ethics and law. Approximate age, gender, level of Jewish education, synagogue affiliation, and profession are types of information that will assist us in providing you with a more focused and appropriate response. Please write your question in as much detail as possible - don't be shy!

Notes:

If you have a general question on Jewish philosophy or law, and you don't mind asking it publicly, then you might try our Torah-Forum, an ongoing discussion of Judaism from people around the globe. There you'll also have the benefit of hearing multiple opinions! To ask your question, first be certain to subscribe, then send your question to Torah-Forum@torah.org.

If you have a strong background in Jewish learning, you might enjoy our Bais-Medrash list. First subscribe, then send your question to Bais-Medrash@torah.org.

Do you just need help navigating our site, or are you hoping to find "resource X" somewhere on the Internet? If you can't find your way around our site, please send email to learn@torah.org and read the automated responses -- that's probably the best we can do! And for other sites, please try a search engine. Our Q&A people have less Internet experience than you do. ;-)

* Actually, that doesn't mean Registered Trademark, it's just an R with a circle around it. Kind of like O-U, but different. We'd like to claim that 'CyberSage' is ©1998 by Project Genesis, like our pages...
